About us

What is the YV Foundation?

Young Voices was founded in 1996 to inspire a lifelong love of music in children through the largest school choir concerts in the world.

In 2023 Sound Diplomacy and Real worth completed a Social Impact report on the impact on children taking part in Young Voices concert and participants ‘reported improvements in wellbeing, civic engagement and social connections’ and the ‘overall impact on education & skills was valued at over £27 million’

In 2010, the Young Voices Foundation was founded to support this vision, bringing charitable giving to schools and families involved with Young Voices. The Foundation is working with a wider range of children than ever, removing barriers to participation through grant giving and other special projects.

Our mission

We believe that participation in music making can have a positive impact on children’s wellbeing, self-confidence and can build a sense of community.

At the YV Foundation, we are committed to reaching children who would otherwise not have access to high-quality music-making experiences.

What do we do?

Through music and singing the Young Voices Foundation helps children and young people by:

  • Giving grants to increase opportunities and experiences.
  • Developing and delivering music and singing projects.
  • Delivering projects that support the professional development of leaders and teachers.
  • Raising funds to support the above work.
